Good morning from the Singapore Changi Airport....it's 5 a.m. and I have not yet slept. One of the joys of being a budget traveler...to save money you do fun things like stay up all night before an early morning flight instead of paying for a half night in a hotel. I actually ended up hanging out til about 3 with a friend of a friend who lives here in Singapore, which was much better than crashing at the airport the entire night.

Honestly I'm just thrilled that I am actually booked on the flight that I am supposed to be booked on! When you get you tickets through one of those cheapie internet sites its always a little unsure. But I'm in, tickets in hand. In a few hours I'm on my way to SF with a short stop in Tokyo.

It just occured to me that I went through no sort of security at all on the way in...no Xray of my carry ons or anything. And I'm right outside the gate, there is no more. Strange, just like the olden days.
