My Kids
Picture Time! These are all pics of my students taken over the course of the year. I don't take nearly as many pictures as I want, because I am usually too busy to even think about photography. But I realized that I have collected enough to merit a blog post! So now you can have some faces to go with my stories.
Toyeen and Dezhunae, two of the founding members of the school.
Nahomy with Mustafa. And no, it's not her baby :) Mustafa is the son of one of our teachers. She brings him to school pretty often - nothing like having dozens of free baby sitters!
"The Bouncers." Jonathan and Enrique.
One of my favorite photos in the batch. Ironically, these two are often the ones who have me tearing my hair out, but other times they do the cutest things. In this picture they decided to act as "bouncers" for the room the school assembly was being held in, marking everyone's hand with a pen and checking them before they came in the room.
Jackie, BriAna, Jacob and Julia, helping me out with a middle school recruitment event.
Ajenay, academic superstar, basketball player, future fashion designer, and one of the nicest people I have ever known. I love this girl.
This next batch of photos is from the Model United Nations conference down in Southern California. Myself and two other teachers took about 16 kids back in October. Lots of fun, but exhausting! We stopped on the way back so they could hang out at the Santa Monica Pier for a bit.
Mrs. Haveliwala with Cory and Rickey.
Luis with his beach cruiser. 6 of the boys rented bikes, and got bored of them after 20 minutes, asking if we could go home instead of staying at the pier. Funny.
I really dig this photo, maybe because of the wall in the background is so cool. They are almost all surfing photos.
Mrs. H with Ingo and Daniel at the Opening Ceremonies of the MUN Conference. This woman works her ass off to make the Model UN thing happen. I think she is crazy for doing it, but admire her tremendously for it!
Four of my advisory girls, Danielle, Audrice, Hadiya and Aalijahri.
